Ontario COVID-19 Workplace Safety Inspections and Temporary Foreign Agricultural Workers
Update: Video now available!
The 2021 growing season is fast approaching, and temporary foreign agricultural workers have again started arriving to Ontario agricultural operations amidst a serious global pandemic. It is important for us to review the experiences and impacts COVID-19 has had on these workers, and to identify issues that need to be addressed to ensure their health and safety.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) has launched its second COVID-19 Inspection Initiative focusing on agricultural workplaces, with a goal to help protect temporary foreign agricultural workers.
Join us to learn about the details of this initiative from the MLTSD manager responsible for coordinating it, including the opportunity to ask questions. The event is meant to share knowledge and increase understanding of the regulatory framework among community and worker support networks, but is open to all.
Moderator: Eduardo Huesca, Migrant Farm Worker Program Outreach Coordinator, OHCOW as Moderator
