Science, Solutions and Success Stories
Recorded Friday, March 31, 1:30pm – 3:30pm
It has been one year since we hosted Understanding Long-term Risk and Managing Uncertainty as Ontario, and much of Canada (and the western world) dropped societal controls and mandates, putting the onus on individual protection. And the impact and complexity of the situation has only increased.
How can we manage in future, especially in terms of societal and workplace health and safety efforts? Clear communication and attention by employers and workers remains critical.
Dr. Tara Moriarty has been busy amassing and assessing multiple datasets to launch the valuable predictive tool Canada Covid Hazard Index and is now able to share how it maps to incidence, severity and death data. Plus she offers an update on her previous talk: Reality Check: Excess and “Missing” Deaths, and Their Implications for Prevention
Guest Speaker: Dr. Tara Moriarty, Department of Dentistry, University of Toronto
Dr. Moriarty was hosted by John Oudyk, BASc MSc CIH ROH, Occupational Hygienist from the OHCOW Hamilton Clinic who was instrumental in building and supporting OHCOW’s Relative Risk tool until its efficacy was compromised by data reduction and uncertainty.
