Nursing Week 2026

From the Ontario Nurses’ Association: During Nursing Week, we celebrate the dedication, expertise, and achievements of registered nurses (RNs), registered practical nurses (RPNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs.) This year, for ONA nurses, Nursing Week is being held May 11-17. Our 2026 Nursing Week theme is:

Experts in Care, Fighting for Change.

This theme highlights the value and expertise that nurses bring, particularly in an era where their positions are being cut and eroded. Our members are trustworthy voices advocating for high-quality public health care in every sector.

Ontario Nurses’ Association Website

The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) has defined this year’s them for Nurses’ week as Empowered Nurses Save Lives.  In keeping with that theme, RNAO and its chapters, regions without chapters, and interest groups have organized an exciting lineup of free events that offer something for every nurse and nursing student. This theme highlights the value and expertise that nurses bring, particularly in an era where their positions are being cut and eroded. Our members are trustworthy voices advocating for high-quality public health care in every sector. Many online and in person events are taking place this week!
