Uterine Fibroid Awareness Day

July 21

The Canadian organization, the Vivre 100 fibromes association, seeks to improve available information, structures and platforms dedicated to uterine fibroids in Quebec and in Canada, and  to improve the medical, social and psychological conditions of those with uterine fibroids. The main objective is to provide better access to information.

The Workplace and Reproductive Health

The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has a web page on reproductive health. Reproductive hazards are factors that cause conditions to the reproductive organs and can interfere with a person’s ability to procreate.

In most cases, fibroids are extremely small and barely noticeable. The condition should be monitored as they can expand in size over time and in some cases lead to infertility, chronic pain, and cancer.

Reproductive health issues are usually not work related. However, exposure to metals, solvents, pesticides, radiation, viruses, and extreme stress are all factors that can effect reproductive health.

If you think workplace conditions may have caused your fibroids or other reproductive health issues, contact us.
