EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DONNA CAMPBELL -

Since 1976 Donna has been
activist in Health and Safety.
Prior to joining OHCOW Inc. as the Executive Director of
the Sudbury Clinic, she was employed for 13 years by the
Ministry of Community and Social Services (COMSOC) as a
Life Skills Instructor for the Developmentally Challenged.
Donna joined the OHCOW Inc.
team in October of 1991. She brought with her 16 years of
labour/managerial experience.
She was an active member of
the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) for 13
years. She held senior positions at both the local and
provincial level ranging from Health & Safety
Representative, Executive Board Member (Provincial Board),
Staff Representative and Mediator. She also has extensive
experience in collective bargaining negotiations and
grievances re Public Service Act, OLRA, and Community
Colleges.
ERGONOMIST
TREVOR SCHELL, MSc, BSc, CCPE -

Trevor Schell graduated from the University of Guelph in
1994 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human
Kinetics with specialization in the field of
Biomechanics and Ergonomics. In 1997, Trevor graduated
from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell with a
Masters degree in the field of Ergonomics and a minor in
Epidemiology. Trevor is also recognized as a Canadian
Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) and a full
member of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE).
While at UMASS-Lowell, Trevor was employed as the
Ergonomic Field Coordinator for the Construction
Occupational Health Project operating out of Boston,
where a $12.5 billion highway reconstruction project is
taking place. He has been the Ergonomist with the
Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers since
1998 working with Joint Health and Safety committees on
a variety of ergonomic issues over a wide range of
industries. Trevor has also presented at conferences,
testified before a US Senate Commission on the need for
ergonomic regulations and has been featured in
interviews with CNN, Associated Press, CTV and CBC
Radio.

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST
Masood Ahmed -

Masood Ahmed graduated with an
Honours Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Karachi
University, Karachi, Pakistan in 2001. In 2007, he
graduated from Wayne State University, Detroit, U.S.A. with
a Masters Degree in Science with specialization in
Industrial Hygiene. During his Masters studies he did
projects on such topics as the effectiveness of ventilation
control in pharmaceutical manufacturing, developing
Industrial Hygiene program in a pharmaceutical industry, and
work related hazards and Industrial Hygiene controls in a
car repair shop.
Masood joined the OHCOW Sudbury
team as the Occupational Hygienist in May 2008 working with
Joint Health and Safety Committees on a variety of hygiene
issues including chemical, physical and biological workplace
hazards.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH
DOCTOR
Dr. Noel Kerin, Medical
Consultant -

Noel Kerin graduated in
medicine from the National University of Ireland,
Galway, Ireland. He went on to postgraduate training in
Physiology and Biochemistry and studied Occupational
Health Sciences at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
He is a Fellow of the Canadian Board of Occupational
Medicine (FCBOM), Board Secretary to the Occupational &
Environmental Medical Association of Canada (www.OEMAC.org)
and a member of the American College of Occupational and
Environmental Medicine (www.ACOEM.org).
Dr. Kerin’s training and his
wide ranging experience, has afforded him strong
recognition in the field of Occupational Health. Some of
his areas of major interest include occupational
respiratory illnesses, work related cancers and
toxicology.
As an occupational medical
practitioner, he provides consulting services to the
Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW),
and Independent Medical Assessments to Industry, the
Legal Profession, and the Trade Union movement. He
recently completed, in conjunction with OHCOW teams,
investigations and a report to the WSIB on two of the
largest occupational diseases files ever investigated in
Canada.
Dr. Kerin sits on the board
of directors of the Asthma Society of Canada where he
actively promotes the need for further research in
occupational asthma.
Dr. Kerin makes his home in
beautiful Toronto.
Dr. Sean Somerville,
Medical
Consultant
Sean
Somerville is a Specialist in Occupational Medicine. He
received his MD, MA in Work and Society, and Diploma in
Occupational Health and Safety all from McMaster
University, and his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law
School. Dr. Somerville completed his residency in
Occupational Medicine at the University of Toronto and
is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada, and a Fellow of the American College
of Legal Medicine.

SHEILA PATTERSON -

Sheila
has been at the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario
Workers (OHCOW) Sudbury since July 1992 being promoted
in August as a full time Administrative Assistant.
Sheila is bilingual in both English and French. She has
a two year diploma from the Advertising Program at
Cambrian College. During her 16 years, she has attended
several computer courses to update her current standing
as an Administrative Assistant including extensive
training in Microsoft Office, Access and MindJet
software. This position serves as the office
receptionist, provides general office, clerical support,
manages client files, and maintains OHCOW’s in-house
database. In her role as an administrative leader, she
provides as an asset to the medical team given her
familiarity with the occupational aspect of workplace
injuries and diseases.

Technician
HEATHER POTVIN -

Heather graduated from the
Library Technician program of Cambrian College in 1974. She
began her career as a cataloguer at Ontario Library Service
North for the Tri-Regional Union Catalogue. Since then, her
work experience has included casual work with the Valley
East Public Library and several contracts with the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre and the Sudbury
Regional Hospital. Through her work at the cancer center
and hospital, Heather was able to expand her work experience
to include interlibrary loans and literature searches as
well as introducing her to many new technological advances
in the library field.

James is an Occupational Health Nurse with
5 years experience. A graduate of Cambrian College in 2003,
James began his nursing career in Orthopaedics at the Sudbury
Regional Hospital. Presently on the Orthopaedic Unit, James
has previously worked for Bayshore Health, and has been at
OHCOW for the past 2 years. James is a member of the
Canadian Orthopaedic Nurses Association and the Ontario
Nurses Association.
