SUDBURY CLINIC'S LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE:
The development of a Provincial Board together with Local
Advisory Committees to each individual clinic is an attempt
to ensure that the policies of the clinics are consistent
across the province and that the clinics are responsive to
the needs of all workers in their local communities.
Local Advisory Committees (LAC) are necessary to ensure that
the clinics are responsive to the occupational disease and
injury prevention needs of the local community and raise the
profile of the clinic within the local community.
The LAC acts as an advisory body to the Executive Director
of the clinic, particularly with respect to outreach and
local needs assessment, recognizing that overall policy
direction for the clinics is set by the Provincial Board.
The primary responsibility of the LAC is to uphold the
mission statement of the organization and identify community
needs.
