Therese Hutchinson, Occupational Health Co-ordinator

Areas of Focus: Health and policy implications of industrial air emissions and mobile source air emissions for outside workers; Canadian asbestos exposure for Canadian/foreign workers; pesticide exposure and the young workforce; occupational health implications of second-hand tobacco smoke; impacts of stress.

Jenny Schieman, Occupational Health Nurse

Education: Registered Nurse (18 years), holds a diploma in Occupational Health Nursing and is a Canadian Certified OHN. She is currently working towards her BScN, University of Victoria, B.C. 

Certificates of Achievements: Certified Health and Safety Representative; WSIB Management Certificate; Seagate Crystal Reporting 7.0

Areas of Focus: Patient Case Management, Database Management including provision of Clinic’s stats; pleural plaque database management; diesel exhaust; asbestos exposure and health effects; worker education regarding rights and effects of workplace exposures and prevention. 

Experience:  Employed at LHG in acute care, including obstetrics, rehabilitation, and surgery.  Previous related employment was in the Occupational Health Department at LHG where she was responsible for the care of 1,700 employees, including WSIB and Disability claims management. 

 

Kelly Brown, Occupational Health Nurse

Education: Graduate of the Diploma Nursing Program from Lambton College (1986) and the Diploma Occupation Health Nursing Program at St. Lawrence College, Kingston (2002).  

Experience: Employment as a Health Nurse at Lambton College, local family physician office as well as hospital experience in obstetrics with specialty in Neonatology and Emergency Nursing. 

Areas of Focus: Kelly is involved in a number of current projects at OHCOW further proving her commitment to workplace and environmental/community safety through prevention and awareness.

 

Mary Falconer, Occupational Health Nurse

Education: Registered Nurse for 23 years - Graduated 1980 with Nursing Diploma from Lambton College, Sarnia, ON.  Nearing completion of credits required for Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing through St. Lawrence College, Brockville, ON.  Preparing to write OHN certification exam April 2004.

Experience: Thirteen years experience as an Occupational Health Nurse in both private business and the chemical industry.  Mary is currently working on a part-time basis at OHCOW providing ongoing health and safety awareness to her clients as well as assistance in several clinic projects. Working together in a team effort to prevent disease and disability and assisting in the rehabilitation of sick and injured workers.

 

Ann Tanner, Client Service Coordinator

Provides administrative support to management and staff, including, but not limited to, receiving and processing patients; maintaining, monitoring and reporting on clinic stats; Inputting library articles (Inmagic); Database Input (Patient Logistics, Inquiries); Dictation transcription;

Recording Secretary - Sarnia-Lambton L.A.C.

Experience: 26 years legal secretarial experience in litigation (Family Law; Motor Vehicle Accidents; Estates; Construction Liens, etc.)

 

Steve Baker, Client Service Coordinator

Provides internal administrative support to staff and clinic physicians.

Education: Diploma in Human Relations

Experience: 15 years of administrative support at Bluewater Health (formerly Sarnia Lambton Hospitals Group)
